Vol. 50 Salt is a bad guy?
If you have high blood pressure, you may be told that you should
reduce the amount of salt you are eating. Is salt a cause of high
blood pressure?
Yes, salt is a cause of high blood pressure, but that happens only
when you eat "Refined Salt". If you eat "Sea Salt", that doesn't
happen. What is the problem with "Refined Salt"?
While "Sea Salt" contains many kinds of minerals, "Refined Salt" is
made chemically and 99% of that is NaCl, a purely chemical substance.
The amount of minerals in "Sea Salt" is very small, but they are well
balanced and very important for our body. It is said that some kinds
of "Sea Salt" contain a lot of minerals and the more you take, the
more it lowers blood pressure.
In the Eastern medical view, salt has Yang energy which means that
salt warms up and firms the body. So if you tend to feel cold, don't
have energy or tend to get sick, it is good to take more salt. If you
drink Ume-Sho-Bancha regularly, you can strengthen your Yang energy
most effectively.
So first, throw away the "Refined Salt" in your kitchen and get some
good "Sea Salt".
The following is how to make Ume-Sho-Bancha, but if it bothers you,
you can get Ume-Sho concentrate and you just need to add the tea.
