Today I would like to talk about eczema.
There are various kinds of eczema, but among them there is the swelling type eczema.
Eczema is usually considered a disease of the skin, and steroid ointment may be prescribed. However, in Eastern Medicine, this type of eczema is considered as being caused by the weakness of Spleen energy.

The Spleen in Eastern Medicine corresponds to the pancreas in Modern Medicine. So the Spleen energy has a deep relationship to digestion. If Spleen energy becomes weak, the Stomach and Intestines don't function well, causing indigestion.

The Intestines are what generates heat in our body. If they become weak, our body temperature becomes lower and the power of digestion becomes weaker as well.

The undigested food caused by the weakness of the Spleen energy is transferred to various parts of the body, resulting in swelling type eczema and other kinds of allergic diseases.
