Last time I briefly talked about the condition of Diabetes in Eastern and Western Medicine, and what not to eat in relation to this condition.
Now what should be eaten is:
1. Brown rice
Brown rice strengthens the Spleen and is a nourishing food. It is also
absorbed slowly, unlike bread, so it prevents the sudden rise of blood
sugar. (It is better to eat brown rice with miso soup which is a fermented
food, but is it too Japanese?)
2. Boiled Adzuki Beans with Pumpkin.
This has been a special menu for Diabetes in Japan for a very long time.
Boil Adzuki with Kelp and when the Adzuki becomes soft, add Pumpkin and
season it with sea salt.
3. Tofu
Tofu, instead of meat, can be eaten for protein. Because it is made from
soy beans, it also strengthens the Kidneys. It is good to drink soy milk
before meals.
4. It is important to chew well. Chew your food at least 40 times per spoonful.
5. Water
It has no meaning to drink something to increase urination. Don't drink
beer, coffee, tea, melon, etc. to increase water. Instead, drink good water.
6. Also it is important to do some exercise such as walking.
