The last time I was talking about the breath, mucous membranes, the skin
and the Large Intestine which are all closely related to Lung energy.
This is continued from the last time.
People who have weak Lung energy are sensitive people.
They wake up with a slight noise and are shallow sleepers.
They go to the bathroom to urinate frequently before events which make them feel nervous.
They are sensitive to the change of weather, so for example, when a cold
front comes close, they get an asthma attack.
To strengthen Lung energy, it is important to breathe gOUTh.
When we breathe out, the parasympathetic nerve (relax nerve) works, so
we can relax.
In Eastern Medicine, breathing out strengthens the function of the Lung energy.
So the best thing to do is sing songs. This is also good to release stress.
Good food to eat is lotus root.
Try to eat dishes with lotus root frequently. As the construction of the
lotus root is very similar to the Lung, it is recommended for people who
have asthma to consistently ingest powdered lotus root.
Lastly, this is important.
People who have weak Lung energy should avoid hot spicy food. Hot spicy
food opens the pores and makes the skin rough, resulting in the condition
where germs easily go in.
So people who have atopic dermatitis should avoid it.
It is OK to eat a little bit of hot spicy food in the summer, but it must
be avoided in the season when our skin tends to be dry, that is, in the
winter.
