Today I would like to talk about Lung energy.

The Lung energy is Metal within the 5 energies.
The other organ which also has Metal energy is the Large Intestine.
These two organs' energy is related to respiration and excretion.

When we catch a cold, first, we have chills and a runny nose.
After that, we have a fever and sore throat, and then once the fever goes down, we start coughing.
This is the process of a cold when the Lung energy gets weak.
Since the Lung and the Large Intestine are deeply related, we sometimes have constipation.

The Lung controls the mucous membranes.
In a case where we catch a cold because of the weakness of Lung energy, the mucous membrane in the nose is weak as well, so we have runny nose.
Allergic nasal inflammation (rhinitis) is also caused by the weakness of Lung energy.

The Lung controls the skin.
If the Lung energy is weak, the skin is rough and the pores are open, so germs easily attach and go in.
In the case of atopic dermatitis with rough skin and constipation, this is caused by the weakness of Lung energy.

The Lung is closely related to the Large Intestine, so if the Lung energy is weak, we tend to have constipation.
When heat in the Large Intestine increases, it absorbs the water of the stool, leading to hardened pieces which look like the stool of rabbits.
On the contrary, if the Large Intestine gets cold, we have cloudy and watery diarrhea.
